Thoughts, ebbing and flowing, seem to oscillate on the tide. Much like the Walluski, they appear to be lazy and slow moving. However, the current runs deep, over the bathymetric terrain, and is sometimes deceptively swift. There are other times, though, when it can softly babble.
The Wallooskee
Bears the name of a small band of Indians that lived near the river. They were of the Chinook tribe. In 1851 there was one member (Walloska) of this band surviving (McArthur, 1992).
